According to EW's Ausiello...maybe.
It certainly seems more likely than it did a few months ago anyway.
Per the report, creator Rob Thomas and Veronica herself, Kristen Bell, met last week:
Kristen and I ran into each other, and we did discuss a Veronica movie," confirms Thomas, who says he has also had "a few conversations" with Mars executive producer Joel Silver.
"It's very tough to focus on it right now with two pilots on my plate," adds Thomas, referring to his two ABC projects, a reworking of his '90s dramedy Cupid and an adaptation of the New Zealand series Outrageous Fortune. "But as soon as I have any free time, that's my top priority."
Bell was a little less forthcoming...
Regarding her recent chat with Thomas about a Mars feature, the star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, perhaps not wanting to jinx things, flashes a Cheshire cat grin and says, "We'll see."
Let's see - Kristen Bell is riding high from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, will be back on Heroes for a hopefully much-improved third season and the much delayed Fanboys will apparently finally be released this winter, cancer plot intact. So yeah, I can see her being cagey - but I can also see her doing it if it came up.
It's not like all the cast are needed back - only Enrico Colatoni (currently in Flashpoint) and Jason Dohring (coming off the cancelled Moonlight) would have to come back, especially if the movie jumped forward to Veronica's FBI days.
Tina Majorino (currently in Big Love) would be logical too, and it'd be good to see Percy Daggs back if he could fit it in between commercials. Francis Capra - who's also on Heroes this season - could do with the exposure playing a gangster with a heart (as opposed to just plain gangster roles he's been stuck in), and Ryan Hansen is usually good value, but none of them would actually be required. A non-appearance by Chris Lowell could be explained away by his Private Practice schedule.
I don't want to get my hopes up - but it certainly sounds a little more promising than it did.
Edit: And currently Veronica Mars is less than $20 per season at Amazon - and if you click on these handy-dandy buttons, I get credit for it...

Don't you be getting my hopes up darn it!
As much as I WANT a VM movie to happen, drama and/or mystery-centric shows just never have been able to go that route....least not until a decade or two has passed. I mean mini-series/tv-movie...MAYBE...but big motion picture? No. For some reason the only tv shows allowed the big screen treatment are scifi/fantasy type shows (see: Star Trek / X-Files / Firefly)
I hope you prove me wrong though man
I don't think it would make a good movie. Unless the story is ridiculously good. The TV is pretty good and they should just leave it as it is.
