Firsts

I'm no good at these sort of things as a rule, but I kind of like the idea of starting a meme and seeing if it actually spreads...so here we go.

Post the questions below and three covers that answer to these questions; no need to comment unless you want to:

1) What was the first comic you remember reading?

2) What was the first comic that made you realize that you might be in this for the long haul?

3) If you had to make a snap decision to take one comic or one comic run to a desert island, what would it be? Don't think too hard!

Firsts:

1) Technically it was a UK reprint of this issue but I remember it vividly -they're fighting animal men (well I know now that's not what they're called) - on a rollercoaster!

2) One of the first US-format books I bought when I was 11 - and what an impact it had (reprints ASM #121-122)

3) This whole series, including the annual, would be coming with me. Probably the finest finite-run of a book I can think of, running the gamut from broad comedy to intense pathos. And you kind of realize from about #8 (the fantastic Final Night tie in where everyone sits out the end of the world in Noonans, telling stories) that none of these guys are really going to get a happy ending.

So, I tag Val, Nick, Mike, Melissa and Johnny. Not sure if any of them will actually do it but no harm in trying, right?
